  1. The following changes have been made to this directory since R3:

  3.     o  New DDX interfaces integrated
  4.     o  8-bit specific code added:
  5.  
  6.         Stipples, text, copyplane, pushpixels
  7.  
  8.     o  non-8 bit code added:
  9.  
  10.         0-width lines, 0-width arcs, filled arcs,
  11.         tiles, copyarea
  12.     
  13.     o  New colormap code.  CFB now provides all 6 standard
  14.        visual types.  Other non-frame buffer displays should
  15.        use the new color resolving functions.
  16.  
  17. This directory now provides a real implementation for 8-bit frame buffers,
  18. driving the frame buffer at memory bandwidth for many operations using
  19. a reasonable CPU (R2000, SPARC at least).
